Comparative Study between Pneumatic and Holmium Laser Lithotripsy in Treatment of Ureteric Stones
ConclusionsCompared to the pneumatic lithotripter, the Ho: YAG laser seems to have a statistically significant higher SFR in the early postoperative period (1  day), even though there are statistically insignificant success rate (after 1 month) and complications (hematuria, mucosa injury, stone migration, stricture and perforation avulsion). Comparison between OPEN STONE SURGERY vs PERCUTENOUS NEPHROLITHOTOMY in Management of Renal Stones By Using S.T.O.N.E Nephrolithometry Scoring System
ConclusionThe S.T.O.N.E. nephrolithometry score was predictive of the stone-free status in both surgical procedures (PCNL and OSS) and can be used as an formal guidance for surgical planning and patient counseling. This score would be classified into two categories “low” score range from 5 to 8 recommend PCNL procedure with expec ng SFR of 88% to 97% and “high” score range from 9 to 12 recommend Open Stone Surgery with expec ng SFR of 90% to 96%, to reach the most acceptable results for each procedures to sa sfy the patient and the doctor. The S.T.O.N. E score was not associated with the peri-operative complication...

COMPARING The EFFICACY AND SAFETY OF TREATMENT WITH FIXED DOSE OF TADALAFIL OR TAMSULOSIN AND THEIR COMBINATION THERAPY IN Patients With BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA and Erectile Dysfunction
Conclusion: Combination of tamsulosin and tadalafil can improve international prostate symptom scores, international index of erectile function questionnaire scores and Qmax in patients with lower urinary tract symptoms and benign prostatic hyperplasia to more degrees than their separate use. This combination is recommended because of its synergistic effects, well toleration and safetyConclusionCombination of tamsulosin and tadalafil can improve international prostate symptom scores, international index of erectile function questionnaire scores and Qmax in patients with lower urinary tract symptoms and benign prostatic hyp...

Dynamic Locked Plating of Distal Femur Fractures
ConclusionOur systematic review and meta-analysis showed different method of distal femur locked plate dynamyzation. DLP of distal femur increased interfragmentery micro motion, decrease construct stiffness and improve healing& union rate of distal femur fractures. Finally it should be noticed that the orthopedic surgeon should be qualified to utilize either techniques& the choice depends on the preoperative planning& method of fixation available which leads to fracture union on time without complications. Study the Results of Antibiotic Prophylactic Protocol Adopted by Ain Shams University Hospitals for reducing the Risk of Surgical Site Infection in Patients undergoing Hip Arthroplasty, Pilot Study
ConclusionIn conclusion, this study postulated that systemic antibiotic prophylaxis delivered preoperatively in primary THA procedures significantly reduces the incidence of infection. There is no significant difference in the efficacy of cephalosporins compared with that of quinolones. Prophylactic antibiotics should be taken IV before skin incision by 30-60  minutes and no need for antibiotics more than 24 hours after operation. (Source: QJM)

Serum Level of Parathyroid Hormone, Alkaline Phosphatase, Calcium and Ionized Calcium After Forearm Fractures
ConclusionSerial monitoring of these physiological markers reflect the actual status of bone resorption, and bone formation respectively over a short period. Thus, they can be used as an adjunct to clinical and radiological evidence of fracture healing. (Source: QJM)

Anterior Approach of Total Hip Arthroplasty, a Systematic Review
ConclusionThe best surgical approach for the lowest VAS pain and highest HHS after THA is the anterior approach followed by the lateral approach. The best approach class that had the lowest complications was posterior followed by the lateral approach, and the anterior approach had the highest risk of having complications after THA. Therefore, the use of the posterior approach is safe for THA, whereas although the anterior approach had efficient postoperative outcomes, it should still be use with caution due to the high complication rates. Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty versus High tibial osteotomy in treatment of isolated medial compartment Osteoarthritis of knee: A Systematic Review and MetaAnalysis
ConclusionIn conclusion, there were no significant differences in the pain score, knee score, complication rate and revision rate to TKA between HTO and UKA, while the HTO group manifested superior ROM compared to the UKA group. So, HTO may be convenient for patients with high activity requirements. Over time, both groups exhibited increased revision rates with the deteriorated clinical outcomes. Therefore when deciding on a therapeutic plan, the ability to revise these failed choices of treatment to a total knee arthroplasty should be a major consideration. This may assist surgeons in their choice. Based on the findings o...

Denervation of the Wrist Joint and Its Long Term Effect
ConclusionDenervation is a relatively quick procedure with low complication rates and does not preclude salvage procedures if pain persists. It has been shown that neurectomy of the articular branches is possible without any injury to the important sensory and motor nerves of the hand. Total denervation of the wrist is a useful method for treating wrist pain when other choices compromise functional capacity or a long period of post-operative recovery is not desired. (Source: QJM)
