A real-world, retrospective, observational study examining treatment patterns and clinical outcomes in patients with FLT3m  + AML in Japan
CONCLUSIONS: The study found specific treatment patterns, trends and features in patients with FLT3m + AML. FLT3i was the most prescribed treatment across the study period and the overall median OS after initiating FLT3i treatment was over 1 year. The findings of this study could be helpful for clinicians to optimize treatment strategies for FLT3m + AML in Japan.PMID:37881860 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2023.2271390 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)

Estimating the direct healthcare utilization and cost of musculoskeletal pain among people with comorbidity: a retrospective electronic health record study
CONCLUSION: This study highlights that individuals with painful musculoskeletal conditions have higher healthcare utiliszation and costs than those without painful musculoskeletal conditions. Given the high occurrence of musculoskeletal pain in patients with other conditions, effective management strategies are needed to reduce the burden on healthcare resources.PMID:37853741 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2023.2271862 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)

Tislelizumab in advanced/metastatic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: health related quality of life in Asian patients
CONCLUSIONS: Overall, the health-related quality of life and ESCC-related symptoms of patients receiving tislelizumab in the Asian subgroup remained stable or improved, while patients receiving investigator-chosen chemotherapy experienced worsening. These results in Asian patients corroborate the findings in the intent-to-treat population suggesting tislelizumab is a potential new second-line treatment option for patients with advanced or metastatic ESCC.TRIAL REGISTRATION: The RATIONALE-302 study is registered on clinicaltrials.gov as NCT03430843.PMID:37846080 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2023.2270894 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)

Prediction models for in-hospital deaths of patients with COVID-19 using electronic healthcare data
CONCLUSIONS: Laboratory test results, such as blood urea nitrogen, albumin, and lactate dehydrogenase levels, along with background information, helped estimate the prognosis of patients hospitalized for COVID-19.PMID:37828849 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2023.2270420 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)
