The relationship between polypharmacy and physical performance in patients with early-stage Alzheimer's disease
CONCLUSION: Our study demonstrated the association of polypharmacy with poor physical performance in patients with early stage Alzheimer's disease. Prospective long-term studies investigating the relationship of polypharmacy and drug subgroups with physical performance in elderly patients with Alzheimer's disease would be appropriate.PMID:38073464 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2023.2293109 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)

A matching-adjusted indirect comparison of the efficacy of elranatamab versus physician's choice of treatment in patients with triple-class exposed/refractory multiple myeloma
CONCLUSION: In the MAIC, elranatamab was consistently associated with improved rates and depth of response and significantly longer PFS and OS versus PCT in LocoMMotion and MAMMOTH.PMID:38078866 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2023.2277850 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)

Health-related quality of life in pre-pubertal children with pediatric growth hormone deficiency: 12-month results from a Phase 3 clinical trial of once-weekly somatrogon versus once-daily somatropin
Conclusion: Treatment for 12 months with once-weekly somatrogon or once-daily somatropin resulted in comparable improvements in HRQoL among children with pGHD. Lower HRQoL perceived by parents/caregivers possibly reflect children's tendency to emphasize adaptation. These results suggest that evaluation of HRQoL could help support treatment decisions in children with pGHD treated with growth hormone.NCT02968004.PMID:38053515 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2023.2290623 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)

The association between influenza vaccine effectiveness and egg-based manufacturing technology: literature review and US expert consensus
CONCLUSION: After review of extensive evidence for reduction of VE due to egg-based influenza vaccine manufacture, influenza experts in the US joined those in Europe in unanimous agreement for a mechanistic basis for the effect. Vaccine providers and administrators should consider use of non-egg-based influenza vaccine manufacture to reduce the risk of egg adaptations and likely impact on VE.PMID:38054898 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2023.2284386 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)

Effectiveness of bDMARDs in ankylosing spondylitis patients by biologic use: experience from the CorEvitas PsA/SpA Registry
CONCLUSION: Although AS patients initiate bDMARDs, many do not achieve optimal treatment responses. Future research is needed to investigate the aspects associated with inadequate improvement and treatment response to bDMARDs.PMID:38050693 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2023.2291160 (Source: Current Medical Research and Opinion)
