EBV ‐associated CNS infection in an immunocompetent adult: A case report and literature review
Key Clinical MessageEBV infections rarely cause CNS involvement. For young adult patients with suspected CNS infection, bacterial and other common viral infections should be excluded first and treated empirically until proven otherwise. Challenges in diagnosing EBV-associated CNS infection, emphasizing the role of CSF PCR in confirming the diagnosis. (Source: Clinical Case Reports)

Biomechanical gait parameters change with increasing virtual height in a child with spastic cerebral palsy: A case report
Key Clinical MessageVirtual height exposure coupled with motion capture is feasible to elicit changes in spatiotemporal, kinematic, and kinetic gait parameters in a child with cerebral palsy and should be considered when investigating gait in real-world-scenarios. (Source: Clinical Case Reports)

Secondary syphilis in the third trimester of pregnancy
Histopathological findings in placenta of patients with syphilis. Key Clinical MessageSyphilis infections discovered late in pregnancy, as in this case, may not be treated long enough for delivery. The Japanese guidelines should be revised because they do not describe the mode of delivery for pregnant women infected with syphilis. (Source: Clinical Case Reports)

Renal cell carcinoma with multiple bone metastases effectively treated by a combination of tyrosine kinase inhibitor, robot ‐assisted partial nephrectomy, and metastasectomy
We report a case of mRCC with bone metastasis that was successfully treated using a multidisciplinary approach. Here, we present a case of a 56-year-old man with left renal cancer and large and painful bone metastases at the 11th thoracic vertebrae (Th11). Therefore, a metastasectomy of Th11 was performed. Systemic treatment with TKI, robot-assisted partial nephrectomy, and metastasectomy were then administered. No recurrence was observed in>2  years. Long-term disease-free survival with the TKI-era multidisciplinary approach in a patient with mRCC remains significant when considering treatment sequences, especially n...

Low attenuation areas in necrotizing soft tissue infection
Key clinical messageNecrotizing Soft Tissue Infection can be challenging to differentiate from abscesses based on computed tomography imaging findings only, so it is crucial to perform surgical debridement as early as possible. (Source: Clinical Case Reports)

Relapsed isolated CNS lymphoma treated with radiotherapy and intrathecal methotrexate followed by high ‐dose intravenous methotrexate, rituximab, and temozolomide: A case report
Key Clinical MessageOptimized treatments for relapsed isolated CNS lymphoma (RI-SCNSL) remains under investigation. Temozolomide combination-based therapy, which is often used in glioblastoma may be used as potential treatment in RI-SCNSL.AbstractOne of the most common types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Despite advances in treatment, relapsed isolated CNS lymphoma (RI-SCNSL) from DLBCL remains an issue. The optimal approach in RI-SCNSL remains an area of active investigation as currently there is no high level of evidence for the treatments due to lack of randomized studies. In th...

Treatment of sexual dysfunction induced by hyperprolactinemia accompanied by reduced luteinizing hormone levels: A case report
In this study, we aimed to present the case of a 35-year-old male patient with sexual dysfunction. The treatment process and physical and laboratory examination results were recorded. Before treatment, the PRL and LH levels in this patient were 31.27  ng/mL and 1.62 mIU/mL, respectively. The International Index of Erectile Function-5 (IIEF-5) score was initially 14 points. After regular treatment with low doses of bromocriptine and tadalafil, the hormonal disorder was corrected (PRL: 11.16 ng/mL and LH: 2.28 mIU/mL) and sexual function w as recovered (IIEF-5: 23 points). This case report suggested a sufficient expo...

Acute gastric volvulus mimicking features of gastroenteritis in a 5 ‐year‐old girl
Key Clinical MessageAcute gastric volvulus is a life-threatening condition. Especially, a history of adjacent organ deformities in children with intermittent vomiting and abdominal pain should suggest gastric volvulus, even if the symptoms resemble gastroenteritis. (Source: Clinical Case Reports)

Infected charcot spine
Key Clinical MessagePatients with an infected charcot spine (ICS) may experience little or no back pain despite severe vertebral destruction. Understanding the pathophysiology underlying ICS and its differential diagnoses is crucial for its accurate diagnosis. Worsening symptoms of chronic charcot spine should raise suspicions of an infection. (Source: Clinical Case Reports)

An atorvastatin ‐induced positive anti‐HMGCR immune‐mediated necrotizing myopathy case
Key Clinical MessageStatins can commonly cause myopathy. Most of the time, stopping the culprit drug should solve the problem. However, if the drug has been discontinued but muscle weakness continues to worsen, immune-mediated myopathy should be taken into consideration. (Source: Clinical Case Reports)

A novel de novo variant in the RUNX2 gene causes cleidocranial dysplasia in a Malian girl
We report the first case in Mali, caused by a novel de novo variant in the RUNX2 gene.AbstractCleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) is a rare autosomal dominant skeletal dysplasia characterized by an aplastic/hypoplastic clavicles, patent sutures and fontanels, dental abnormalities and a variety of other skeletal changes. We report a novel de novo variant in theRUNX2 gene causing a severe phenotype of CCD in a Malian girl. (Source: Clinical Case Reports)
