Urban relatives ameliorate survival disparities for genitourinary cancer in rural patients
ConclusionsOur findings suggest rural patients who have been diagnosed with a genitourinary cancer have improved survival when having relatives in urban centers relative to rural patients without urban relatives. Further research is needed to better understand the mechanisms through which having an urban family member contributes to improved cancer outcomes for rural patients. Better characterization of this affect may help inform policies to reduce urban –rural cancer disparities. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Combination tumor ‐treating fields treatment for patients with metastatic non‐small cell lung cancer: A cost‐effectiveness analysis
ConclusionsIn the United States, TTFields plus SOC as second-line treatment was not a more cost-effective strategy for patients with mNSCLC. Of the analyzed regimens, TTFields plus ICI was associated with most significant health benefits. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Comprehensive analysis indicated that NDE1 is a potential biomarker for pan ‐cancer and promotes bladder cancer progression
ConclusionHigh expression of NDE1 is present in a variety of tumours, which is linked to a bad prognosis for cancer. Knockdown of NDE1 inhibited the proliferation, invasion and metastasis of bladder cancer cells, and promoted the apoptosis. For a number of malignancies, NDE1 may be a biomarker for immunotherapy and prognosis. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Survival of the Hmong population diagnosed with colon and rectal cancers in the United States
ConclusionsHmong individuals are nearly a decade younger at the time of diagnosis of CRC compared to the NHW individuals. However, these data do not suggest an association between Hmong ethnicity and overall survival, when compared to the NHW population. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

TBCRC 057: Survey about willingness to participate in cancer clinical trials during the pandemic
ConclusionsWhile pandemic-related anxiety was associated with diminished willingness to participate in trials, the leading reasons for reluctance to consider trial participation were unrelated to the pandemic but included worries about not getting the best treatment, side effects, and delaying care. Patients view trial modifications favorably, supporting continuation of these modifications, as endorsed by the National Cancer Institute and others. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

High TPX2 expression results in poor prognosis, and Sp1 mediates the coupling of the CX3CR1/CXCL10 chemokine pathway to the PI3K/Akt pathway through targeted inhibition of TPX2 in endometrial cancer
ConclusionTPX2 could be a prognostic biomarker for EC and play an important role in the CX3CR1/CXCL10 chemokine pathway and PI3K/Akt pathway via Sp1. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Incidence of skeletal ‐related events in patients with Ewing sarcoma: An observational retrospective study in Japan
ConclusionsSREs are non-rare events that can occur during the treatment course for Ewing sarcoma, with an especially high incidence of malignant spinal cord compression. Patients with metastatic disease at diagnosis, especially in the bone or bone marrow, or with local progression or recurrence after definitive treatment, should be carefully monitored for the occurrence of SREs. The most effective methods to monitor the occurrence of SREs and new preventative therapies for SREs should be investigated in the future. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Efficacy and side effects of anti ‐CD19 CAR T‐cell therapy in patients with relapsed/refractory gastrointestinal lymphoma
ConclusionsThe ORR and CR of high tumor load, gastrointestinal involvement, lumps or nodules type and gastrointestinal bleeding group were lower. The CRS grade was higher in gastrointestinal lesions group and in gastrointestinal bleeding group. Patients with gastrointestinal involvement only were at higher risk for gastrointestinal bleeding.
