Urethral prolapse in dogs
Urethral prolapse (urethral mucosa protrusion beyond the tip of the penis) occurs most commonly in young, male, intact brachycephalic breeds and Yorkshire terriers. Proposed causes include excessive sexual behavior, urogenital infections, urinary calculi, prostatic dysfunction, or developmental abnormalities. However, the exact cause remains unknown.
