Urethral Diverticulum in Pregnancy

We report a case of urethral diverticulum in a primigravida, whom presented as anterior vaginal swelling at 14 weeks of gestation. She was managed conservatively and the cyst (∼8x 13 cm) was aspirated during early stage of labor. However her labor did not progress during the second stage, resulted in an emergency caesarean section. She underwent diverticulectomy at 1 month postpartum due to recurrence of the swelling and persistent discomfort. We believe that the dystocia may be caused by other factors not due to the diverticulum as such. As previously described in literature, we concluded that pregnant woman even with a large urethral diverticulum, vaginal delivery could still be considered with prior aspiration during the early stage of labor.
