The Effect of Desflurane Versus Propofol Anesthesia on Postoperative Delirium in Elderly Obese Patients Undergoing Total Knee Replacement: A Randomized, Controlled, Double-blinded Clinical Trial

(Abstracted from J Clin Anesth, 39:17–22, 2017) The incidence of surgical procedures such as total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is high among elderly patients older than 65 years. Postoperative delirium is common in this age group as increasing age contributes to cognitive decline and prolonged recovery time from anesthesia.
