Accurately Quantifying Breast Cancer Driven Extracellular Matrix Fiber Alignment in Primary Human Breast Tissue

Breast cancer progression involves increased alignment of extracellular matrix (ECM) fibers, which promotes metastasis and drug resistance. Quantifying fiber alignment is essential to studying ECM dysregulation and potential therapies. However, major technical hurdles exist in quantifying fiber alignment and statistically analyzing fiber alignment data. We developed methods to overcome these hurdles.
