Omitting Foley Catheter Use in Mastectomy Patients with or Without Immediate Reconstruction

Surgeries anticipated to exceed 3 hours generally require Foley catheter placement, however, this time cutoff is somewhat arbitrary. We designed a study with retrospective and prospective components to determine if mastectomy with or without reconstruction can be done without Foley use without an increase in urinary retention risk.
