Comparison of Surgery-Specific and Healthcare-Wide Prediction Models of Readmission in Surgical Patients

Predicting patients at high risk for readmission helps minimize adverse outcomes and cost. We hypothesized that a prediction model derived from unique characteristics of surgical patients (SURG) performs better than a healthcare-wide model.
