Is Elective Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy a Same-Day Procedure?

Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) is a common same-day surgery (SDS). We hypothesized that a significant number of patients presenting for an elective gallbladder (GB) surgery require hospital admission and extended stay, and compared SDS and non-SDS patients.
