Postoperative Delirium Among Patients Undergoing Major Abdominal Surgery Randomized to In-hospital Probiotics or Placebo
Postoperative delirium burdens both patients and healthcare system and is associated with increased mortality, cost of care and discharge to dependent status. We performed a secondary analysis prospective randomized trial, in which patients undergoing major abdominal surgery were randomized to either postoperative in hospital probiotic or placebo.
