Barriers to Completing a Multidisciplinary Surgical Debrief

The surgical debrief is a tool designed to improve communication, reduce complications and identify OR inefficiencies. It is recommended to be completed as part of the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist however it is not consistently performed at our institution. We sought to identify the perceived barriers to completing a multidisciplinary surgical debrief.
