Diagnosis of in dogs

Anaplasma phagocytophilum is a common gram-negative bacterial infection in dogs, but the best way to diagnose it is still not determined. Antibody detection assays are frequently used, and a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test is available for detection of A. phagocytophilum. However, it is unknown how well the diagnostic methods correlate.
