The immunomodulating effect of seminal plasma on T cells
During pregnancy the maternal immune system has to tolerate the presence of the semi-allogeneic foetus. Allorecognition takes place at the site of embryo implantation, where trophoblast cells invade and are confronted with maternal PBMCs.
