Human action, key to antibiotic resistance in giant tortoises of Galapagos

(Universidad Complutense de Madrid) Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) is participating in the first study of antibiotic resistance genes in this species on two islands of the archipelago, Santa Cruz and Isabela. The results have established the tortoises as bioindicators of the health of ecosystems in the face of one of the biggest threats to public health, and now also environmental pollutant.
