Revealing the values in mathematics education through a variety of cultural lenses

(Cactus Communications) The mathematics education can often be associated with only numeracy skills. But viewing the discipline as a cultural product--whose values differ across cultures--reveals its significance beyond numbers crunching. In this June Special Issue for ECNU Review of Education, being released as a tribute to the 14th International Congress on Mathematical Education, Dr. Qiaoping Zhang and Dr. Wee Tiong Seah, with other researchers from across Asia and Oceania, share their latest research and developments on values in mathematics education.
