New book highlights need for Chaco Canyon preservation

(University of Nebraska-Lincoln) Protecting indigenous lands and the environmental impacts of oil and gas drilling are the focus of Carrie Heitman's multi-perspective book, " The Greater Chaco Landscape. " The book is the culmination of eight years of work to bring the perspectives of stakeholders including indigenous people, policymakers, researchers and preservationists together to help navigate conflicts over energy development and inform the public about the history and importance of the Greater Chaco landscape and advocate for its protection.
