Libraries Can Apply for $7 Billion in Tech Funds

Libraries and schools can begin applying on June 29 for financial support to purchase laptops and tablets, Wi-Fi hotspots, modems, routers, and broadband connections for off-campus use by students, school staff, and library patrons.The $7.17 billion Emergency Connectivity Fund was established as part of the federal American Rescue Plan of 2021. The 45-day application filing window for the fund will run until August 13.Eligible schools and libraries can submit requests for funding to purchase eligible equipment and services for the 2021-22 school year, according to the Federal Communications Commission.
