Antidiabetic Activity of Durian (Durio Zibethinus Murr.) and Rambutan (Nephelium Lappaceum L.) Fruit Peels in Alloxan Diabetic Rats

The ethanolic extract of Durian (Durio zibethinus Murr.) and rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) fruit peels administered orally to the diabetic rats for 11 days, produced significant decrease in the level of blood glucose. The highest percentage reduction in blood glucose levels were shown of rambutan fruit peels extract with dose 500mg/kgb.w and the value of persentage reduction were 61.76±4.26%.
