An observational study on the effects of delayed initiation of end-of-life care in terminally ill young adults in the intensive care unit
Conclusions: Our study found a high prevalence of delayed initiation of EOL care in terminally ill young adults and identified the factors responsible for them. The normal initiation of EOL care reduced the usage of medications and resources without affecting the level of patient satisfaction.
