Skull Base Chondroma: A Case Report and Review of Literatures

We report a case of a 60-year-old woman who had an 8-year-old history of nonsignificant incentive dizziness and headache and a 3-month-old history of paroxysmal numbness on the left face and in the right toe. Magnetic resonance imaging of the head revealed a nonenhanced tumor occupying the left side of cavernous sinus. A cerebrovascular digital subtraction angiography revealed that the tumor was wrapped and supplied with blood by a bulky abnormal vessel branching out from the posterior cerebral artery; the pathologic diagnosis was chondroma. At present, the most effective treatment is to resect the tumor as completely as possible under a microscope.
