Brand new study finds link between depressive disorder and abnormal brain response to visceral pain in patients with IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME

High rates of anxiousness and depression amongst patients along with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) have led many researchers to believe there could be a causal relationship between mental factors and IBS symptoms. Right now, scientists in Germany have found apparent evidence that patients with IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME process pain signals from the stomach abnormally, and that disturbed brain responses to pain are particularly noticable in patients with more depression signs and symptoms. 1
