The Good News and Bad News About Infection Control

Do you want to hear the good news or the bad news first? When looking at
the current state of infection control in the United States--including
rates of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and progress on
goals--reports show that we have a little bit of both. Although
important strides have been made in infection prevention in the last few
years, experts say there is still a significant amount of work that
