Iterative Mesh Transformation for 3D Segmentation of Livers with Cancers in CT Images
Liver cancer is the third most common cause of death from cancer worldwide [1], and liver is the most common metastatic spread sites of cancers after the lymph nodes, which have been found in 30-70% of patients who are dying of cancer [2]. With the technical advances of computed tomography (CT), hepatic CT scanning has become one of the major routinely-used clinical imaging modality in cancer diagnosis, staging, and treatment evaluation because of the relatively low cost and wide availability [3].
