Joint Letter Supporting Legislation to Reverse Executive Order on Schedule F

Sixteen organizations, as part of the scientific community, would like to thank Majority Leader Hoyer and Representatives Connolly and Maloney for introducing the “Saving the Civil Service Act” to reverse the recent “Executive Order on Creating Schedule F in the Excepted Service” that would create a new classification of “Schedule F” employees serving in "confidential, policy-determining, policy-making, or policy-advocating positions” and deprive these employees of their civil service protections.    Related StoriesCall for Applications: 2021 Emerging Public Policy and Leadership AwardScience in the U.S. ElectionsLatest Public Policy Report
