Hello again from Nduruma!

Hello again from VP3! It’s been a while since we last checked in, and we’ve been up to a lot here in Nduruma. We’ve added a steady stream of community teachings to the schedule, and are now familiar faces at all of the schools in the ward. We’ve kicked off our district-wide soccer tournament with a hard fought game between the mzungus and the Mzimuni team, and we are also busy planning community day and a few more testing days. Soon we will add getting nostalgic about our time here in Nduruma to our list of activities. Upon some reflection fueled by chipsi mayai, we’ve come to realize we’ve all grown in different ways during our time in village. This blog will attempt to highlight this growth, starting with Ben. Besides the very literal growth of Ben’s luxurious hair, groomed a la Ibrahimović , his command of Swahili has grown by leaps and bounds over the past few weeks. Just last Sunday, Ben effortlessly won the hearts of an entire church congregation with his flowing introduction to a lesson, all in Swahili. We less talented in the language have no clue what he said, but we are sure it was impressive. Speaking of less talented, though Tayler has grown in numerous ways in village, her Swahili knowledge remains firmly stagnant and limited to greetings. Seriously, we mean only greetings.
