HIVE Liverpool Marks World AIDS Day 2013 With A Gig Night

Having wisely decided that the annual street collection might be better suited to the warmer months of the year, this year HIVE Liverpool instead decided to mark World AIDS Day with a gig. The events co-ordinators tracked down some fantastic bands and it wasn’t long before the top floor of Hardman Street Baa Bar was rocking to some seriously cool music to raise funds for our HIV projects in Tanzania. First up on stage was Liam Tooney whose mix of acoustic covers and his own songs set a chilled vibe for the evening. Next came La Alma Sucia whose five song acoustic set included a toe-tapping musical mash up of ‘Hit The Road Jack’ and ‘Fever’. Bradley Martin followed next, with some remarkable covers played on the cello, including an amazing rendition of ‘Teenage Dirtbag’.  Our final act was Tribe of Alice whose rousing vocals by Camille and Charlie were a brilliant end to a fantastic evening. A big thank you to our acts and to those who came.
