Fox Chase trial tests promising therapy in early breast cancer

Researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center are enrolling newly diagnosed breast cancer individuals into a clinical trial of the promising drug reparixin, which targets tumors’ ability to self-renew. The study, being displayed at the 2013 San Antonio Cancer of the breast Symposium, comes on the heels associated with research done in a Phase Ib pilot trial in which patients along with metastatic disease take reparixin combined with the chemotherapy drug paclitaxel (brand name Taxol), designed to assess the safety associated with dosage.
