Hitting The Slopes? Going for an Outdoor Run? Here's How to Heal and Prevent Windburn

Whether you're hitting the slopes, going for a cold-weather run or straight up frolicking outdoors on a blustery, snowy day, all seems great -- until you look in the mirror and realize you're more akin to Rudolph the Red-FACED Reindeer. Damn wind burn. And while it's easy to assume windburn is just a seasonal version of sunburn, this wintry issue has nothing to do with UV rays. (But ALWAYS wear sunscreen, guys!)Wind burn, rather, is caused when the cold temperatures and dry air sap skin of its natural moisture, causing the blood vessels near the surface of your skin to dilate -- which is why you turn red and look "burned." But the good news is that there are ways to fix it, and even better ways to prevent it.
