OMG! Beef Patties!

Nom! Nom! Nom! Nom! Nom! Helen slow cooked a covered pan of beef patties and gravy this afternoon on Helen Fridays.  She said she let them simmer for about an hour and a half. They were extremely fork tender. I was asleep when mom called and I got dressed and hurried over to get my hefty plate.  We also had steamed cabbage, rutabagas, creamed potatoes, chowder peas, and corn bread.  Dad said the whole meal only cost $9 dollars.  I need to start cooking again soon with those kinds of savings! Here Kitty Kitty! Mom and dad tentatively have a new cat. It will become official once they name him. “He’s not going to be a house cat,” my father explained last night, “Only on the coldest nights is when we will bring him in and make a bed for him in the garage.” The cat was begging something pitifully from hunger this afternoon. I opened my parent’s garage door and put out some canned cat food on a paper plate. The cat ate as if it were its last meal. “Now, I wonder what royal title dad will give you will get once you are named,” I whimsically told the starving cat as I pet him. Lean On Me. I’ll Get You There… “Now, you are not going to back out of seeing our movie, are you?” mom asked this afternoon. “I have my heart so set on seeing that film.” I promised my mother we will head to Auburn at 1:15 PM for the movie.
