Naïve and Misguided! That’s Me!

“I just want to write and share my life with my friends,” I simply told my father last night unnerved at what he had just revealed to me. “I didn’t mean any harm.” Apparently, somebody on Facebook had told my father I was writing embarrassing personal details about my family and my life. My father staunchly refused to tell me who said that little tidbit of criticism. It could have been one out of a dozen souls. “You’re too trusting and naïve son,” my father told me. “Often to your very own detriment.” I let my father read many of my postings on Facebook and the vast majority of them were very innocuous and general. I felt like I was being reprimanded and in an unjust manner to say the least. There is no freedom of speech when there is social etiquette and peer pressure to be observed first and foremost.
