SIC UK Visits HIVE Branches To Meet The Fantastic New Committees

With new branch committees at HIVE Southampton, Liverpool and Leicester, the SIC UK national committee has been out and about to put faces to names and to help the new committees adjust to their roles. First up was our brand new HIVE branch at Leicester and there we met the enthusiastic Sarah, Emily, and Noor. They listened intently to the presentations and discussed their exciting plans for their first year with HIVE. They even accomplished some fantastic teaching after we challenged them to teach us a session with only ten minutes prep and very few teaching materials, not an easy task.   Filled with confidence in our new HIVE branch, SIC UK headed home anticipating an exciting future for HIVE Leicester. It didn’t take long and we have already been hearing news of their brilliant start: an amazing seventy people signed up at their stall at fresher’s fair and nearly a quarter have already advanced to being paying members! With support from local Consultant Paediatrician Dr Bandi, they are hoping to hold a training evening on November 23rd to get their recruits trained and ready to teach. By the sounds of things this training can’t come fast enough: a large local sixth form college has already shown interest in bringing HIVE in to teach.
