Got the Computer Bug…

My father had to use my computer to show me something about the royal family last night. He was very excited as he is a very excitable fellow. He is also obsessed with Wikipedia as a tool to explore and learn about such topics. “Is this one of the computers you’ve built?” my father asked as an aside after tootling around for a bit. “It is ten times faster than my computer. Everything is just so smooth and instantaneous with no waiting.” I told my father if he gave me five or six hundred bucks then he could have a computer like mine as well. “You’ve really got a very neat setup in here,” my father furthered as we sat in my bedroom in my command chairs. I felt like a proud parent dawdling over his son or daughter. Well, I was just eating humble pie and I blushed. Just a simple $250 solid state drive would work incredible wonders for his ailing and ageing Dell computer and I told him so. Wireless or Not? I just called dad and told him I could setup a wireless access point at his house. I had all the hardware to do so. Then my brother and kids could get online with their laptops. Dad kind of hem hawed around about it afraid I would mess something up. I assured him things would be okay. His old hand – me -- down wireless router bit the dust last month.
