Johnson and Johnson (J&J) and its subsidiary companies Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Scios Inc. have agreed to pay more than $2.2 billion in fines for inappropriately, and in some cases illegally, promoting prescription drugs (see here). In addition, according to MarketWatch (here) J&J "plan(s) to announce a $4 billion settlement to resolve over 7,500 federal and state lawsuits involving recalled hip implant products."
