Me and You and The Waffle House…

“Let’s me and you go eat at the Waffle house for breakfast in the morning,” my mother told me last night. I think it was the first time I’ve seen my mother up before twilight in years. Mom pulled up in front of my house and blew her horn.  We were then on our way once I took the helm. “I’ll have the ham and cheese omelet,” my mother told our elderly waitress. “I’ll have what she is having,” is what I then told our waitress as well. We had the best grits I have ever tasted this morning.  Bar none. They were rich, creamy and buttery. The omelets weren’t half bad as well. “I am trying to quit eating when I get full,” mom told me. “We will send the rest of my plate to Maggie.”
