what to do when you find ischemia of whole small intestine during laparotomy?

yesterday i operated on 57 years old male , had controlled DM , otherwise fit and healthy , presented with 4 days history of adbominal pain , vomit , low output. On examination and investigations found to have peritonities . A exploratory laparotomy was done under GA . Whole of his small bowel , from D-J flexure to almost 6 inch proximal to I-C junction was gangrenous. Pt belong to relatively low middle class , self paying ( no medical insurance ) I did a open and shut laparotomy .
