Cell adhesion is the fundamental of almost all cell behaviors, such as cell proliferation, migration, differentiation etc. Therefore, it is essential to provide a platform for studying and regulating cell adhesion in dynamic environment. Owing to the controllability of surface properties, materials with dynamic surface stand out as ideal candidates of this platform. This review summarized the recent advances of design strategies of dynamic surface, and their applications in regulating cell adhesion and related functions.Graphical abstract
