ClinicalTrials.gov Unfrozen During Shutdown

NIH officials have responded to concerns about the government shutdown’s affect on ClinicalTrials.gov. When the government shutdown occured  the site was on-line, but could not accept new trial registrations. According to a Boston-Globe article on Thursday, NLM employees who support the site were “un-furloughed” and new registrations are now being processed. The announcement on the site now reads: “ClinicalTrials.gov is open, however it is being maintained with minimal staffing due to the lapse in government funding. Information will be updated to the extent possible, with priority given to processing registrations of new trials and critical updates to existing entries, such as trial status and contact information for enrollment. The agency will attempt to respond to urgent operational inquiries.” /ch
