Onychomycosis caused by Pichia guilliermondii: a case report and mini-review

Recently, more attention has been paid to yeast for its increasing morbidity, especially the candida specices. Here we reported a fingernail infection caused by Pichia guilliermondii, the sexual reproduction period of Candida guilliermondii. Itraconazole was used for three courses, and the patient achieved improvement without any significant side-effects. This might be the first onychomycosis case of Candida guilliermondii.
