GE’s Latest Vivid E9 Ultrasound System Gains CE Mark Approval (VIDEO)

GE‘s latest version of the Vivid E9 cardiovascular ultrasound system has gained CE Mark approval. The latest system incorporates XDclear technology, which is designed to enhance image quality in 2D, 4D, color flow and Doppler. The new system shortens exam times and greatly enhances diagnostic confidence. The Vivid E9′s new M5Sc-D probe provides higher sensitivity and quantification enhancements by completely automating regions of interest placement, while the system also offers standardized depth illumination, shared services and specialized tools for pediatric use. The new system can be used in a range of settings, including intensive care units, neonatal units, operating theaters and cath labs. For cardiovascular applications, the system can be used to image the entire heart in a single heart beat with focus on regions of interest ranging from the entire ventricle to just one of the valves. Further, the Vivid E9 allows physicians to view images of the heart not only during  echo lab assessments, but also during surgical procedures in the operating room and during image-guided procedures in the cath lab. The system includes the industry’s first configurable 4D TEE transducer, a new “tilt and rotate” function, a live “2 Click Crop” tool and a new QuickRotate button that allows users to rotate an image in 30 degree increments with one click.
