Haemodynamic changes and emergence delirium in children undergoing isoflurane general anaesthesia for dental treatments: effect of propofol administration

ConclusionsWhen administration of single dose of propofol is used for the prevention of Emergence Delirium, constant monitoring of expired CO2 values during and after the end of intubation is essential. It can be suggested that administration of a single dose of 1 mg·kg−1 propofol prevents emergence delirium in paediatric dental patients; nevertheless this finding should be confirmed with prospective clinical trials.
