Once daily iron sulphate in treatment of iron deficiency anemia: Is it going to be effective?

Numerous oral and parenteral iron preparations are available to correct the deficiency and restore the iron reserves. Currently Ferrous sulfate is accepted as most effective oral iron preparations available for managing moderate to severe IDA. Present article mainly aims to compare single vs multiple dosing schedules mentioned in standard texts of Medicine. We will also discuss administration of iron sulfate with their implication in level of Hepcidin. Relevant clinical studies conducted or ongoing will also be discussed.
