It’s been an odd few months and I can’t really find a nutshell big enough to hold everything that’s happened. My family have endured some turbulent times and celebrated joyful moments. For those who don’t already know, my eldest son, Matt, developed a brain tumour and had to undergo emergency surgery.  It was the a devastating time, but we are blessed,  it was benign and despite it being a long road to recovery we can safely say he is so much better. Struggling with the fallout has not been easy, and for weeks, since that dreadful day in July when we got the news, it’s been a tough, tiring and emotionally draining period. I can’t begin to describe the feelings when you hear that your child will die without surgery, and I sincerely hope none of you reading have that experience. So, we had Matt’s brain turmour survival, which when you consider it is pretty hard to top, but my daughter, Natalie, received the A’Level results she needed and has been offered a place to study Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Exeter University in 2014.  A huge relief for her, and a proud family moment.
