Community Health Data Base 2013 Summer Update

Jefferson researchers, the latest updates to 2012 Household Health Survey are now available for download, along with documentation for the new variables. There is also a new Demographic Product that replaces Profiler 5.2. These 15 data files offer variables that have been requested by Community Health Data Base (CHDB) members over the past few years. These are tied to vital statistics (birth and mortality) and US Census data in SPSS and Excel formats for five levels of geography: County, Zip Code, Suburban Minor Civil Division (boroughs and townships), Census Tract and Philadelphia Neighborhood. The CHDB staff can provide help with more complex analyses like combining units of geography, for example, to produce rates for service areas that are based on Zip Codes. Please contact us at AskaLibrarian to be put in touch. The Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) compiles this local, population-based data for use in health planning, research, education and program development by local service organizations. For basic queries, try the web-based data analysis tool—no additional statistical software required! Both options are available on JEFFLINE’s Community Health Data Base page.
