Toll-Like receptor 2 activation and comedogenesis: implications for the pathogenesis of acne

Conclusions:
TLR activation and secretion of IL-1alpha from keratinocytes may be initiating steps in comedogenesis and, therefore, critical to the pathophysiology of acne.
