Introduction

Prostate cancer remains a significant problem in the United States. There are 233,000 cases predicted to occur in 2014, and nearly 30,000 men in the United States are projected to die owing to this disease.1 Despite successful local interventions, which are reviewed in this issue, many men will develop progressive disease requiring further therapies and often succumb to disease.
