Cardiovascular autonomic dysfunction predicts outcomes in diabetes
Among patients with type 2 diabetes and CAD, heart-rate recovery after exercise as well as other measures of autonomic function predict short-term cardiovascular outcomes, but C-reactive protein is a better predictor of adverse events, a study suggests. A second study reports that autonomic dysfunction is a strong predictor of risk of severe hypoglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes.
