Study: Poor Oral Hygiene Increases HPV Risk

Practicing good oral hygiene may help prevent oral HPV infections, according to a new study published in Cancer Prevention Research. Researchers from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center found that those with missing teeth, gum disease, and other dental conditions caused by poor hygiene were more likely to be infected with human papillomavirus than those who maintained healthy teeth and gums.
